July Member Meet-Up

A Recap of Our July Member Meet Up

On Thursday 27th of July, GIBC hosted our July Member-Meet Up, the first with our new structure aimed to inform, educate and inspire our members and guests. As part of the sell out event, GIBC hosted had the privilege of hosting three remarkable guest speakers talking Tourism, Digital Marketing and the inspirational story behind Eastmon Group and PhotoCreate.

Hosted by The Local, the atmosphere was buzzing as members and guests gathered to gain insights, network, and celebrate the spirit of small business and entrepreneurship. The evening began with our inform session thanks to the vibrant Glen Innes Severn Council Tourism Visitor Information Ronnie, Sal, Fred and Ted. They took us on an extraordinary journey through their activities and the portfolio of projects that they are working towards. We were truly inspired by their passion for championing Glen Innes and promoting local produce and business.

Next up we were fortunate to have Emma Newberry from Digital Spark share her passion and valuable insights to help small businesses expand online and reach a wider audience. This was one of Emma’s first talks as a new business owner and we were excited to be able to support her new passion for marketing in the online space.

We then welcomed our main guest speaker – Hugh Eastwood – who began with a heartfelt dedication to his father Howard, who was able to join us for the evening. Howard's unwavering dedication and support for the business community and numerous organisation’s has been truly commendable. Hugh Eastwood then treated the audience to a voyage through the history of Eastmons, generously sharing the challenges faced, victories achieved, and invaluable lessons acquired along the path. His narrative deeply captivated the room serving as an important reminder of perseverance and ongoing innovation. Hugh also offered profound insights into the Photo Create journey, showcasing the audience some of the pivotal products.

It was great to see each speaker bring unique perspectives and experience to the table. Their talks sparked engaging discussions among attendees and left us with a wealth of actionable takeaways to implement in our respective businesses. The event was a perfect blend of professionalism and warmth, creating an environment where everyone felt welcome and inspired. We are honoured to have such incredible individuals as part of our Business Chamber community.

Thank you to our committee, the speakers, members, our hosts and all those who helped make this event a success. Our Business Chamber truly thrives on the power of networking, and this event was a testament to its effectiveness. We look forward to seeing you at our next Meet-Up in September.
